Obituary: Morris W. Plagenz

Morris W. Plagenz, 92, of Beaver Dam passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at the Zilber Family Hospice in Wauwatosa with family by his side.

Morris was born the son of Charles and Mayme (Winnie) Plagenz on March 9, 1924 in Kingston, WI.  He was married to Julia M. Geltz on April 12, 1958 in Milwaukee.  Morris was a member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.  He was a member of the Local 18 Sheet Metal Workers Union.  He enjoyed playing cards and gardening.

Morris is survived by his children: Juliana (Richard) Padgett of Brown Deer, William (Connie) Plagenz of Franklin, Dawn (David) Sommerfeld of Hales Corners, and Dianna Lee of Salt Lake City, UT; his six grandchildren: Jacob, Robert, Alex, Leah, Megan, and Morgan.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Julia in 2011, his son-in-law Ed Lee, his sisters: Bernice Sack and Maude Murphy and his brothers: Alex Plagenz and Eugene Plagenz.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam with the Rev. Michael Plagenz and Rev. Philip Heyer officiating.  A visitation will also be held on Wednesday, September 28th from 11:00 a.m. until noon at the church.  Interment will be at Kingston Cemetery in Kingston, WI.

Memorial donations in Morris’ name may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
