Robert Dennis Mittelstadt was born on October 22, 1950 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Franklin and Betty (Kennedy) Mittelstadt.  After graduating from Beaver Dam High School, he attended UW Madison on the Green Giant Scholarship.  Bob worked in the food service industry as a chef and as a software designer; his software aided in inventory control and menu design.  He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish.  Bob’s true passion was genealogy and history.  This interest took him past family history and into Dodge County history.  For instance, Bob was responsible for taking many of the pictures of grave stones that appear on the website findagrave.com.  He was a man of intelligence and sly wit that will be missed by those fortunate to have known him.

Survivors include his seven brothers and sisters, Linda (Tom) Abel of Waunakee, Mary (Steve) Schweighardt of Plymouth, Gina (Ray) Weickert of Las Vegas, NV, Frank (Lori) Mittelstadt of Beaver Dam, Janet (Paul Rediske) Mittelstadt of Greenfield, Donna (Dan) Adams of Bristow, IN, and Beverly Mittelstadt of LaFarge; ten nieces and nephews, Steve, Matt, Justin, Kari, Michael, Daniel, Ashley, Madeline, Isabel, and Danielle; other relatives and friends.  Bob was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Carol Buth; and a nephew, Frank Buth.
