Chamber Announces 2017 Business, Citizen & Non-Profit of the Year

The Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce proudly announces its selection of Non-Profit, Citizens and Business of the Year that will be recognized at the Chamber’s Annual Dinner in January 2017:

Green Valley Enterprises (GVE) is a local nonprofit that helps individuals with special needs, and their families, achieve maximum potential and independence through an array of services.  The organization has been performing this function for over 40 years in Beaver Dam, but has served a clientele from far beyond the city.  The dedicated staff has touched hundreds of lives directly and thousands more who are family of clients.   GVE will be recognized as the 2017 Non-Profit of the Year.

Bev Beal-Loeck has been an active volunteer in the Beaver Dam community for decades.  She is currently serving on the Board of Education and has served on the boards and as a volunteer for organizations including the YMCA of Dodge County, the Beaver Dam Scholarship Board, Downtown Beaver Dam, Inc., American Cancer Society Relay for Life – Beaver Dam, Kiwanis Club, Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce and Church Health Services, the organization that is also her employer.  Bev has also served on the City of Beaver Dam Planning Commission.  In addition to giving of her talent, Bev has also given of her treasure to many worthy causes in the community.  Bev Beal-Loeck will be recognized as the 2017 Citizen of the Year.

Northwood Paper Converting (NPC)  is a homegrown success story.  It is the largest 100% contract converter in North America with 2 locations (WI & PA) and over 180 employees. The company has been in business since 1999, providing high quality sheeting and slitting/rewinding services for paper mills, merchants, and printers. The company has been recognized for excellence in its industry and as a Wisconsin company, including receiving the Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Award in 2009.  NPC has been a generous benefactor to many causes in the community.  NPC will be recognized as the 2017 Business of the Year. 

GVE, Bev Beal-Loeck and NPC were selected by representatives of past award recipient organizations and past Citizen’s of the Year.  All three will be recognized at the chamber’s Annual Dinner, which will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Beaver Dam Country Club.  This event is open to the public.  Invitations will be distributed by early January.  Call the Beaver Dam Chamber to be placed on the mailing list, or to reserve a seat at the event: 887-8879.
