Obituary: John H. Anderson

John H. Anderson, 68, of Lowell passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.

A visitation will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017 from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 p.m. at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.  The Rev. Terry Larson will officiate.  Interment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, township of Trenton with military honors conducted by the Lowell VFW Post #9392.

John was born the son of Howard and LaVerne (Will) Anderson on April 18, 1948 in Columbus.  He was a 1966 graduate of Beaver Dam High School.  John served his country in the U.S. Army in Vietnam during the war from 1966 until 1969.  He was married to Kathy Marie Crane on May 9, 1992 at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.  John was employed with Perry Printing in Waterloo for 34 years and was later employed with Duffy Bros. in Columbus where he drove truck until his retirement.  

John was a member of the Lowell VFW Post #9392. He was a member of First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.  John enjoyed the outdoors especially hunting and driving his ATV.  He loved his family and gatherings with family and friends especially around the campfire “up north.”

John will be dearly missed by his wife, Kathy of Lowell; his children: Sheila (Kathy Rose) Kain of Appleton and John (Gail) Anderson of Beaver Dam; his sister, Carol (Bob) Ritter of Mayville; his six grandchildren: Christina (Bradley) Glapa, Stephanie Timm, Jacob Anderson, Emma Anderson, Tyler Anderson, and Holly Anderson; his great-grandson, Grayson John; his mother-in-law, Nancy Ahlert; his father-in-law, Robert (Marylou) Crane; his brothers-in-law: David (Marilyn) Crane and Rob (Stephannie) Crane; his sister-in-law, Lisa (Brian) Wethal; his nephews: Bryon Crane, Trent Gilbert, Zach Svendsen, and Brady Crane; his nieces: Kim Fuderer and Melissa Kreuziger; his former wife, Margaret Anderson; as well as other relatives and many friends.  

He was preceded in death by his parents; two children: Michael and Daniel Anderson; and his father-in-law, Ken Ahlert.
