Obituary: Donald J. Leckman

Donald J. Leckman, 81, of Beaver Dam passed away on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at his home.

Donald John was born the son of Oscar and Julia (Skoglund) Leckman on December 28, 1935 in Minneapolis, MN.  He was a graduate of Abbottsford High School.  On June 15, 1963, he was married to Lily Brooks at Zion Bible Church in Zion, IL.

He had been a dairy farmer in the Spencer area for many years.  Don was very skilled at woodworking.  He enjoyed crafting furniture, cabinets and many heirlooms throughout the years.  He was an avid Green Bay Packer, Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Cubs fan.  He liked attending worship services at Trinity Church United Methodist. He enjoyed going bowling at Tower Lanes.

Don is survived by his sons: Bruce (Lisa) Leckman of Juneau and Larmar (Stacy) Leckman of Wauwatosa; his grandchildren: Madelyn and Aaron Leckman of Wauwatosa; and his former wife Lily Boeldt of Plymouth.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers: Richard Leckman and Curtis Leckman; and his sisters: Genevieve Ahrens and Fern Ledin.

Private family services will be held at a later date.  Donald will be laid to rest next to his mother Julia at Riverside Cemetery, Withee, WI near Abbotsford in the Spring of 2017.
