Fatal Motor Vehicle Crash – Names Released

On 02-26-17 at 3:07 am, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded to a motor vehicle crash on County Highway D near Zimmerman Drive, Township of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

Preliminary investigation shows that Timothy Price (27 years old from rural Beaver Dam) was operating a 2001 Hyundai sedan westbound on County Highway D near the intersection with Zimmerman Drive.  Deon Sallis (27 years old from rural Beaver Dam) was a passenger in the Hyundai.  The Hyundai traveled left of the centerline of the roadway and crossed over into the eastbound lane of County Highway D.  The Hyundai gradually entered the snow covered south side ditch, and began to spin in a clockwise direction.  The Hyundai continued westbound in the snow covered ditch where it struck a utility pole and then came to rest near a residential driveway near Zimmerman Drive.  

Price and Sallis exited the vehicle and ran approximately ½ mile to Price’s residence on CountyHighway D.  The Dodge County Medical Examiner later pronounced Price deceased at his residence.   Sallis was transported to Beaver Dam Community Hospital for treatment of his injuries.  

Assisting at the scene was:  Beaver Dam Fire Department, Beaver Dam EMS and Dodge County Emergency Response Team.  

Alcohol and speed are factors in this crash.   The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Crash Investigation Team.
