Obituary: Richard “Rich” A. Warns

Richard “Rich” A. Warns, age 58 of Beaver Dam, passed away unexpectedly at home on Friday, May 12, 2017.

Rich was born on March 4, 1959 in Marshfield, WI, the son of John and Alma (Krarup) Warns. He graduated from Owen-Withee High School in 1977. On August 24, 1985, he was united in marriage to Kathy Hummelmeier at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. He worked at Shopko for 32 years and most recently worked at Harbor Freight in Madison. He enjoyed bargain hunting at Goodwill or any nearby thrift shop. 

Rich will be deeply missed by his wife, Kathy Warns of Beaver Dam; his children, Andrew Warns and Kelly Warns, both of Beaver Dam; his siblings, John (Mary) of Puyallup, WA, Peter (Patricia) of Apple Valley, MN, Patricia (James) Eloranta of Owen, Michael (Benita) of St. Paul, MN, Dennis (Dawn) of Greenville, and Elaine (David) Neumann of DePere; 19 nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and other relatives.

A Celebration of Life Service for Rich will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 20, 2017 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam with Fr. Michael Erwin officiating. A Memorial Gathering will be held prior to the Service at Cornerstone, beginning at 10:00 a.m. In honor of Rich’s easy-going, fun-loving ways, please wear casual attire. No ties or suits required.
