Obituary: Dorothy E. Walker

Dorothy E. Walker, age 86, of Beaver Dam, died on Tuesday, August 8, 2017, at her home, surrounded by her family.

In keeping with her wishes, a private graveside service will be held at a later date at Highland Memory Gardens in Beaver Dam.

The former Dorothy Elaine Rahn was born on February 24, 1931 to William and Hulda(Krinke) Rahn. She attended elementary in south Randolph and was a 1972 graduate of Randolph High School. Dorothy was united in marriage with Robert Walker on December 18, 1948 at the Frieden’s Parsonage. She was a former employee at Kolpin Products in Fox Lake and at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital in the laundry department.  Dorothy farmed with her husband and family since 1954 at their homestead in the Town of Trenton. She enjoyed baking with Casie and Dillon, canning and gardening. Dorothy loved spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids.

Survivors are her children, Darlene (Jay) Zeman of Beaver Dam, Robbie Edming of Burnett, Dale (Barb) Walker of Beaver Dam, Ruth Neu of Beaver Dam, Daniel Walker of Beaver Dam, Robert (Sue) Walker of Westfield, and D.J. Walker of Burnett; 13 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Roy; daughter, Trish Dykstra; grandson, Cory Walker; granddaughter, Tracy Kaiser; brothers, Irvin (Ruth), Earl (Betty), andLeRoy (Hazel); and sister, Eileen (Elsmer) Zimmerman.

The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Hillside Manor Therapy Department and to Hillside Hospice staff.
