Here’s the Beav, preparing for Guy Fawkes Night on 5 Nov 2017 — the 412th anniversary of Fawkes’ famous failed crime — when he tried to blow up Parliament with 36 barrels of gunpowder.
So, how do the ever-so-serious and rigid British people observe Guy Fawkes Night?  Do they stand silently for five minutes and pray for all the spared souls?  Do they contemplate the profound effect on British history if Guy Fawkes had prevailed?  Do they discuss the political and religious underpinnings of the Gunpowder Plot?  

NAW, the Brits celebrate with parades, fireworks, and huge bonfires.  It’s like the 4th of July!
You may have heard the rhyme:
Remember, remember!

The fifth of November,
The Gunpowder treason and plot;
I know of no reason
Why the ?Gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!
