Dr. Ronald W. Miller, age 85, of Beaver Dam, went to his heavenly home on Friday, November 24, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer.
The visitation will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and the funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Philip Heyerofficiating. The American Legion is invited to walk through at 4:30 p.m. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton on Thursday, November 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. Military Honors will be provided by the John E. Miller American Legion Post #146.
Ronald was born on September 29, 1932 in the Town of Fountain Prairie, Columbia County, Wisconsin, to Carl O. and Elsie A. (Affeldt) Miller. On June 25, 1977, he was united in marriage with Nancy Ascherien at Church of Christ in Beaver Dam. Ron was a devoted husband and father and had many other roles that he played throughout his life. He was a truck driver, a cab driver and did road construction but mostly he was a dedicated child of God and did Evangelistic work for 33 years. He became an ordained minister and passionately spread the word of God to many non-denominational congregations and non-profit organizations. His motto was that Jesus saves and that Jesus never fails. Ron also worked for Schebergs Feed Service and Kingston Feed Mill. He loved his fellow man and this great country and he believed that communication, cooperation, and teamwork was the key to success. Ron was a Korean War veteran, serving from 1953 to 1955. He was a lifetime member of the DAV and the John E. Miller American Legion Post #146 and was an AARP member since 1985.
Ronald is survived by his children, Mary Jane Miller of Beaver Dam, Ronald J. Miller, Jr. of Beaver Dam, Heidi Miller of Poynette, and Ruth (Anthony) Russell of Beaver Dam; eight grandchildren; sisters, Dorothy Langetiegof Stoughton, and Phyllis Miller of Madison; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nancy in 2002; brothers, Eugene, Carl, Corwin, Frederick, and infant twin brothers; and his sisters, Faye Reithmeyer, Ruth Huth, Jeanette Livingston, Imo Cornford, Bertha Verges, Mildred O’Brian, Kathleen Miller, and Carol Scott.
