Local Modern Woodmen service project a success

On February 3rd, Modern Woodmen of America members in Beaver Dam recently came together with Deb at New U to Collect much needed kitchen items for Transitions. Transitions is a nonprofit that provides needed items for individuals or families in transition. These items include, but are not limited to clothes, personal hygiene, household, kitchen utensils, small kitchen appliances, towels, washcloths, beds and bedding, In addition they will supply items related to care for infants such as diapers, wipes, blankets, bedding and as available, car seats.

“We’re so happy to support our community in this way,” says Cassandra Schmidt, local Modern Woodmen volunteer leader. “Events like this give our members an opportunity to make a difference.We were able to collect over 400 items!

Coordinated by local Modern Woodmen members, the fraternal financial services organization’s Summit chapters, chapters and youth service clubs provide opportunities for members to take part in social and educational activities and volunteer projects to meet local needs.
