Obituary: Elsie Gertrude “Trudy” Miller, age 96

Elsie Gertrude “Trudy” Miller, 96 years, of Beaver Dam passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Charleston House Memory Care with her family by her side.

A visitation for Trudy will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until Noon at Grace Presbyterian Church in Beaver Dam.  Funeral Service will follow at the church at Noon with the Rev. Chris Davis officiating.  Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be served at church.  Interment will follow the luncheon at Bethany Cemetery.

Trudy was born on November 8, 1921 the daughter of Gottfried and Elsie (Hahlen) Boss in Juda, WI.  She was a graduate of Waupun High School and attended Oshkosh Business College.  After college she was employed at Shaler Company in Waupun until her marriage.  On September 24, 1948, she was united in marriage to Marvin G. Miller at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau.  

Trudy loved gardening and helping her husband, Marvin, with Miller’s Apple Orchard on their dairyfarm. She looked forward to the autumn apple harvest and truly enjoyed meeting so many wonderful customers.   Together they attended many Farm Bureau meetings, where they enjoyed playing cards after the meetings.  She had belonged to the South Beaver Dam School Mother’s Club and helped her children with their 4-H projects.  Trudy and Marvin also hosted an AFS student from Colombia, South America for a year.  

Trudy was a faithful and active member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Beaver Dam.  She had been active in the Women’s Bible Study Circle; she was a deacon, helped with the church’s spring and fallrummage sales and also assisted with funeral luncheons.  Trudy was also an avid Wisconsin Badger and Green Bay Packer fan.  Trudy was known for her apple and blueberry pies, butterhorns, and countless batches of cookies.

Trudy loved her family deeply and is survived by her four children: Steven (Patricia) Miller, Stuart (Judi) Miller, Scott (Gloria) Miller, all of Beaver Dam, and Sherri (James) Wisnoski of Lakeville, MN; her grandchildren: Nicole (Aaron) Gruenewald, Mandy (Andrew) Bibo, William (Amber) Miller, Jaime Benter, Nathan (Katie) Miller, Andrew Miller, Michelle Miller, Ana Maria Miller, Michael (Zoe)Wisnoski, Jennifer Wisnoski, and Brian Wisnoski; her great grandchildren: Liam Gruenewald, Colin Gruenewald, Levi Gruenewald, Reid Bibo, Mara Rose Bibo, Genesis Miller, Autumn SitasMiller, Lillian Miller, Logan Miller, Liara Miller, Taelen Miller, Ryden Miller, Ellie Benter, Savannah Pahl, and Riley Wisnoski.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Marvin in 2010, her granddaughter Jacqueline Wisnoski in 2016.

Memorial donations in Trudy’s name may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church, Hillside Home Care/Hospice or to the Charity of One’s Choice.
