Obituary: Bonnie Jean Minnig, age 76

Bonnie Jean Minnig, age 76, lifelong resident of Beaver Dam, passed away at home peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, August 17, 2018.

Bonnie was born on December 26, 1941 in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Leo and Florence (Hafenstein) Plankel. She lived her life through her faith and was an active member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam. Bonnie was known for her generosity, kindness and unconditional love. Throughout her life, she enjoyed baking, taking car rides, reading and providing loving childcare to numerous children. She was especially fond of her beloved and faithful dog, Snickers. She loved her family dearly.

Bonnie is survived by her five children, Peter, William (Denise), John (Laura), Penny and Randy (Tammy), all of Beaver Dam. She took pride in her grandchildren, Dustan (Jennifer), Dylan (Vicki Haase), Abby, Brandon (Morgan Breunig), Derrick (Amanda), Mitchell (fiancée Jessica Boerst), Ava Guenther, Ella George and Leo George; and treasured time spent with hergreat-grandchildren, Haley, Nora, Leia, Levi and Lennon. She is further survived by her sister, Janet (Plankel) Minnig, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Paul in 2014, and other relatives.

A memorial gathering will take place on Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 511 S. Spring St., Beaver Dam, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Bonnie’s life at 1:00 p.m. with Fr. Michael Erwin as celebrant. A luncheon will immediately follow the Mass at Mission Hall. Private family inurnment will take place at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, Beaver Dam.

The Minnig family would like to extend a special thank you to Carolyn from Visiting Angels and Hillside Hospice staff for their loving care, as well as to all of Bonnie’s amazing friends that went above and beyond to support Bonnie and her family. We truly appreciate it!
