Obituary: Christopher J. Benter, age 42

Christopher J. Benter, 42, of Beaver Dam passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at his home.

A visitation for Chris will be held on Friday, August 24th from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam.  A Celebration of Life for Chris will follow at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home with John Leiting as Celebrant. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Beaver Dam on Saturday August 25th at 9:30 a.m.

Christopher was born the son of Ewald “Bud” Benter and Paulette Wille on March 7, 1976 in Beaver Dam.  He was married to Kelly Beers and was later married to Jaime Miller.  Chris had been employed as a welder at various locations in the Beaver Dam area.  

Chris was a loving and devoted father and loved spending time with Zander and Ellie.  He also was devoted to his nieces and nephews and enjoyed the time he spent with them.  He was an avid outdoor recreational enthusiast and enjoyed going snowmobiling, ATVing, and go carting.  Chris was very skilled in fixing and restoring cars and especially enjoyed restoring his Dad’s 1968 Camaro.  Chris will be deeply missed and will be remembered as a “Free Spirit”.

Chris is survived by his father Ewald “Bud” (Susan) Benter of Beaver Dam; his mother Paulette (Jim) Thompson; both of Beaver Dam; his son Alexander “Zander” Benter of Beaver Dam; his daughter Ellie Rae Benter of Columbus; his six sisters: Kristin Wenning of Playa del Rey, California, April (Terry) Ferstl of Beaver Dam, Lindsey Benter (James Conlon) of Beaver Dam, Brooke Du Charme (Steve White) of Blanchardville, Melissa (Adam) Lisko of Beaver Dam and Erika Thompson of Beaver Dam; his grandmothers Barbara Benter of Beaver Dam,  Cherie Wille of Beaver Dam and grandfather Glenn Qualmann of Beaver Dam. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers Ewald “Bud” Benter and Gerhardt Wille and his grandmother Donna Qualmann.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations to the family would be appreciated.
