Obituary: Carol F. Knaack, age 95

Carol F. Knaack, age 95, of Beaver Dam, died peacefully on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at The Meadows of Fall River.

The former Carol Faith Bradley was born on July 27, 1923 in rural Cambria, Wisconsin to Melvin and Lydia (Rupnow) Bradley.  She attended the Welsh Prairie School in Cambria and was the Valedictorian of her class. On July 4, 1945, Carol was united in marriage with Amos H. Knaack in Waupun. She was an active member of Trinity United Methodist Church where she was very involved at one time in social groups including Church Circle, Sock Club and Breakfast Club.  Her priority in life was to see all her children through college degrees.   She helped her husband with bookwork and organization of the business, as well as ran her household.  For many years Carol traveled yearly to Alaska and California to be with her son, Kris and daughter Cheryl. She also enjoyed traveling to artist receptions and showings for her son, Terrill. Carol especially enjoyed bird watching, observing nature and traveling to see Wisconsin’s scenic areas.  Carol will be remembered for her kindness, gratitude and sense of humor.

Survivors are Carol’s children, Cheryl (John) Derleth-Bruce of Mission Viejo, CA, Terrill (Sue) Knaack of Beaver Dam, and Kris (Loretta) Knaack of Anchorage, AK; five grandchildren, Sara, Lauren, and Katy Knaack, Christina Derleth, and Nicole Derleth; two great grandchildren, Elizabeth and Abigail Mitchell; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Amos in 1995; a brother, John Bradley; and a step-son, Jay Knaack.

A private family service will be held.
