Hello! My name is Ashley Beal and I provide Independent Living services in Dodge County, and I am also the Youth Services Coordinator for Access to Independence. (ACCESS). I will be a monthly contributor to LocaLeben Magazine, keeping you up to date on our organization and how we can help you to lead independent lives.
ACCESS is a consumer run and controlled disability based nonprofit located in Madison. We provide advocacy, services, and resources for people with any type of disability and of all ages. We serve communities throughout Dane, Dodge, Columbia, and Green Counties. What makes ACCESS unique is that the majority of the staff, and board members, are people with disabilities.
The services we provide are information and referral, peer support, skills training, advocacy, youth transition, transition back into the community, help with assistive technology, accessibility assessments, and benefits assistance.
We serve people of any age and of any disability, regardless of severity, as well as family members, friends, and others who assist people with disabilities. We also serve businesses, governments, and anyone is the community who has disability related questions or concerns.
To receive services from ACCESS, individuals decide on what services they wish to receive, and direct the goals they wish to achieve. Services can be provided at the ACCESS office, as well as in your home, workplace, or other community setting.
We provide monthly office hours in two Dodge County area locations, individuals can contact ACCESS to set up an appointment to meet at one of the locations. The locations are the 1stThursday of every month at the Dodge County ADRC (199 County Rd D F, Juneau) from 12:30 pm – 2:30 pm and the 3rd Wednesday of every month at Campbell Court Apartments (148 Judson Dr. Beaver Dam) from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm.
