Addressing Drug Addiction in Your Workplace

The Beaver Dam Chamber of Commerce will host its next Breakfast Network Program on Tuesday, July 12, 2016.  The event will run form 7:30 AM – 9:00 AM at Beaver Dam Community Hospital. Public is invited – reservations preferred. Cost is $13.00 per person.

This Breakfast Network is sponsored by Beaver Dam Community Hospital

Join Kurt Klomberg, Dodge County District Attorney, Sarah Eske, Human Resources Director for Dodge County, Don Bezek, John Deere Horicon Safety Manager and Chad Verges, Mayville Engineering Company Human Resource Manager in having a discussion about how the growing epidemic of local drug addictions are affecting our workforce and our businesses.

Then hear what you can do as employers and managers to address addiction in the workplace.  Here are some of the questions we hope to address:

· How can you recognize the signs of addiction before and during employment?

· What are the obligations of an employer to a failing employee due to drug or alcohol addiction?

· What steps must an employer take to legally replace a failing employee due to addiction?

· Long term, what should we be doing as employers, leaders and citizens of our communities to support law enforcement, health care and human services organizations to end the latest epidemic of drug addiction?

This is a BN with a serious topic that is affecting the bottom line of a growing number of businesses.  Don’t miss it.

Since the early 1990s the Beaver Dam Chamber has been providing quality programs and outstanding networking opportunities for the business community.

Reservations preferred; Open to the public!
