Localeben readers respond to our question: where were you?

Chuck Swain:  “Where were you?”: Holly Hill (Daytona Beach) Florida. Seth Rinaldi, Tom Fisher, Ira Weinstein and myself sitting in front of the TV, all of us wearing shorts and T Shirts and commenting about the terrible weather in Wisconsin. The beer was as cold as Lambeau, so, in retrospect, all was good!

DJ:  “Where were you?”: sitting in our living room watching the game in our winter coats. Our furnace broke down and could get no one too come to fix it till after the game. So coats, boots, mittens, scarves and blankets. We felt like we were at the game!

Mary Kahler:
“Where were you?”: I grew up near Wausau, Wisconsin and we were in the “blackout” area. The game was not broadcast on TV, so we listened to it on the radio. Then, later that night we could watch “the miracle” on TV. You know, I still like listening to games on the radio.

Greg Steil: “Where were you?”: I was in the basement of our house on North Center Street watching the game with my dad and my sister, Maureen. Good old black & white TV with antenna reception. You got the sense of the cold from the TV pictures but there’s no way we understood how cold it felt! Heard a story this past week that because it was so cold at Lambeau, the only place they could sell bottles of Pabst without them freezing was in the bathrooms!
