Antique Show in Watertown

Watertown's Octagon House Museum will be hosting an antique show on Saturday, September 10 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Their picutresque grounds are the perfect setting for a special antique show accompanied by a silent auction of quality antiques. More than 25 private antique dealers will be selling at this event which is sponsored by the Watertown Historical Society. There is no cost to enter the antique show grounds. Visitors are also invited to tour the Octagon House at a discounted rate of $5 per person during the event. Bidding for the silent auction will  will start at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m., one hour before the antique show closes. If not present, winning bidders will be contacted by phone to arrange for pickup and payment of their items.

The grounds of the Octagon House Museum are home to the First Kindergarten in American, a restored pioneer -era barn, a 1936 miniature model of the Octagon House and tour center with a gift shop. The Octagon House, five floors of solid brick construction completed in 1854, was designed and built by John Richards, a pioneer Watertown settler. The House is one of the largest single family residences of the pre-Civil War period in Wisconsin. The Octagon House is located at 919 Charles Street  in Watertown.

Proceeds of this event will go to the support of the museum.
