Obituary – Ollinger, Leora

 Leora A. Ollinger, age 95, died Monday, September 23, 2013 at the Charleston House in Beaver Dam. Visitation for Leora will be at the Murray Funeral Home, 131 East Maple Avenue in Beaver Dam, on Saturday, October 12, 2013 from 9:30 AM to 10:50 AM.  Funeral services will follow at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 11:00 AM with Fr. Michael J. Erwin officiating.  Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

The former Leora Ann Meyer was born on January 11, 1918 in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin.  She was employed at Weyenberg Shoe Factory for 39 years and was a longtime member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church.  She loved to bowl and participated in various leagues throughout her life.  She also enjoyed traveling and took many trips with her friends and with her daughter.  In retirement, Leora volunteered for Beaver Dam Meals-on-Wheels for 15 years and she was active with the Beaver Dam Senior Citizens.

 Survivors include her daughter, Dr. Pat Ollinger-Snyder, and her husband David, of Madison; a grandson, Todd (Judy) Snyder of Itasca, IL; four great grandchildren, Scott, Lauren, Callie and Jacob Snyder, all of Itasca, IL; her sister, Sylvia (Fred) Kuenzi of Beaver Dam; other relatives and friends.  Leora was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Donald Ollinger in 2006; and her brother, Leo Meyer.
