Obituary: Gladys Knox

Gladys Knox, age 88 of Beaver Dam, passed away surrounded by her family on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at her home in Beaver Dam.

Gladys was born on August 24, 1925 to James and Hertha (Pieper) Stotmeister on the family farm in the Town of Cleveland. After high school, she attended St. Luke’s Nursing School in Racine and worked for many years as a nurse on the OB floor at Hillside Hospital in Beaver Dam. Gladys was a loving and generous mother, and in her free time, she enjoyed gardening, doing jigsaw and crossword puzzles, reading and playing Scrabble.

Gladys is survived by her daughters, Patricia Knox of Beaver Dam and Sue (Butch) North of Randolph; her grandchildren, Jamie (Andrew) Stock, Tiffiney Regan, Robert (Lisa) Regan Jr. and Jonathan Knox; her great-granddaughter, Kenna Regan; and her brothers, Roland (Jo) Stotmeister and Ray (Jane) Stotmeister, both of Wausau. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; her son, David Knox on August 7, 2013; her sister, Marvay Hagen and her brother, Edward Stotmeister.

The family invites you to join them to gather and celebrate the life of Gladys on Monday, July 21, 2014 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Pine Grove Cemetery in Wausau.
