25 years ago, on Nov 9, 1989, one of the ugliest symbols of Soviet oppression — the Berlin Wall — came tumbling down. Less than a year later, the two Germanies were reunified. On the day the wall came down, I wasn’t even ready to embrace the possibility that it would happen at ANYTIME during my life. Also, on the day the wall came down, the Germans/Berliners began the biggest party in the history of man . . . that I know of.
“Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall!”
—Ronald Reagan
