Obituary: Velma E. Vick

Velma E. Vick, 72 of Beaver Dam and formerly of Sun City, AZ for 11 years passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2015 at her home.

Velma Esther was born the daughter of August and Ella (Baerwolf) Fredrick on November 27, 1942 in Hustisford, WI.

Velma was a loving and caring woman.  She cared for many of her nieces and nephews throughout the years.  She loved being “Grandma Velma” to James and Gracyan Homan.  Later, she worked in homecare for seniors for several years as well.  Velma enjoyed camping and loved animals, especially cats and dogs.  Velma had a green thumb and could make almost anything grow.

Velma is survived by her sisters: Evelyn (Robert) Radschlag of Hartford, Norma Funk of Monroe and Betty (Howard) Hoeft of Watertown; her sister-in-law Helen Fredrick of Kenosha; also nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters: Meta Mahnke and Bonnie Wilson and brothers: Elmer, Harold and Edward Fredrick.

A Celebration of Velma’s life will be held on Friday, March 13, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam with John Leiting as Celebrant.  A Visitation will also be held on Friday from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.  Inurnment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens in the town of Trenton in Spring.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia Foundation or to the Dodge County Humane Society.
