Tammy A. Desjarlais, age 53, of Beaver Dam, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam after a courageous battle with cancer.

Tammy Ann Desjarlais was born on January 7, 1962 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to Terry and Mary (Vander Galien) Desjarlais. She grew up in Beaver Dam, attending the Beaver Dam School District. In June of 1994 she was united in marriage with Jon Ziegel at Grace Presbyterian Church in Beaver Dam. Tammy loved canning fruits and vegetables as well as flowering plants; each spring whe would nurture countless plants to produce beautiful gardens. Tammy and her mother would also maintain the final resting places of their dear loved ones at Oakwood Cemetery with flower arrangements. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, vacations up north, fishing, and sitting around the campfire. She was a compassionate caregiver, not only with her family, but with the residents at the Remembrance Home in Beaver Dam where she worked, and clients from when she did home care. Tammy had a love for animals, but most importantly, her heart was full of love for all of her grandchildren. She was a member at Grace Presbyterian Church in Beaver Dam.

Survivors are Jon Ziegel of Beaver Dam; daughters, Corinna (Matt Rijkse) Rijkse-Oestreich of Burlington, and Stephanie (fiancé, Tavare Willis) Sheahan of Beaver Dam; grandchildren, Zachary, Zoey, and Travon; mother, Mary Desjarlais of Beaver Dam; sisters and brother, Doreen (Gerry) Neuberger of Reedsville, Carrie Desjarlais of Beaver Dam, and Richard (Debbe) Desjarlais of Markesan; nieces and nephew, Sarah, Andy, Kasandra, Katie, Dawn, and Amber; mother-in-law, Marion Ziegel of Beaver Dam; special friends, Jan and Duane Crandall of Beaver Dam, and Deb and John Hiel of Cambria; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Terry; first love, David Sheahan; and nephew, Eric Braaflat.

The family would like to thank the staff at Golden Living and Heartland Hospice for all of their exceptional care that was given to Tammy through this battle. The family would also like to thank Pastor Chris and the congregation of Grace Presbyterian Church, as well as her many friends for their prayers and support throughout this journey.
