Ronald “Ron” L. Draeger, 63, of Juneau passed away peacefully on Friday, July 31, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

In respect of Ron’s wishes, a private family funeral service will be held and burial will be at Juneau City Cemetery.  All are welcome to attend A Celebration of Ron’s Life on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Juneau Community Center, please dress casual.

Ronald Lee was born the son of Gilbert and La Verna (Frederick) Draeger on November 2, 1951 in Watertown.  He was a 1970 graduate of Juneau High School, where he enjoyed participating in FFA.  On June 28, 1975, he was united in marriage to Marcella Pickhard at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Juneau.

Ron, along with his wife and family, farmed on the family farm his whole life.  He had also been employed as a welder at Maysteel in Columbus for 14 years.  He enjoyed fixing and restoring equipment.  His hobbies included restoring antique tractors, fishing with his grandkids, salmon fishing on Lake Michigan and playing cards and hanging out with family and friends.  He was a member of the Badger Steam and Gas Engine Club of Baraboo.  Ron and his wife Marcie enjoyed traveling to national antique tractor shows.  His favorite pastime was hanging out with his grandkids and he treasured the time he spent with them.

Ron is survived by his wife of 40 years, Marcella “Marcie”; his children: Patti (David) Roberts, Randy (Jilline) Draeger, Tim (Jessica) Draeger all of Juneau; eight grandchildren: Allyson and Noah Roberts; Brina, Katelyn and Brayden Draeger; and Jai’lyn, Bailly and Tobby Draeger; his brother Dale (Doris Beckler) Draeger of Oshkosh; his mother and father-in-law: Laila and Garvin Pickhard of Juneau; his sister-in-law: Linda (Elliott) Pollasch of Cambria.  He is also further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

If desired, memorial donation may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.

The family wished to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. John Lambert, Dr. Michael Allen, and the Staff of St. Mary’s Medical IUC for the kind and compassionate care given to Ron and his family.
