Beauty from a Bike - Fall Migration

The fall migration is definitely underway at the Horicon Marsh. Now is the time to visit the marsh to see thousands of birds congregating for their migration south. There are many places to view waterfowl. My favorite location is the 3-mile auto tour at the Horicon National Wildlife Refuge. The auto tour is located on the west side of the refuge off of highway 49. The best time to view wildlife is early morning or late in the day when the birds are more active. With the many trails and popular floating boardwalk, anytime during the day is a good time to get some exercise and enjoy the outdoors. After a good hike be sure to stop by Tom Dooley Orchards and try an apple puff. My favorite! (Image: Great Blue Heron along the auto tour). Enjoy!
