Robert E. Dolgner, 92, of Beaver Dam died on Monday, November 16, 2015 at the Golden Living Center – Continental Manor in Randolph.

Robert was born August 7th, 1923 in Marcellon, WI.  He was the son of Henry W. and Annice (Heath) Dolgner and step mother Mary Dolgner.  He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Arlene Cahoon at Dalton, WI, September 5, 1942.

Robert served as a radioman aboard the American Legion (APA17) during WWII, as part of the US Navy. He worked as a machinery and auto mechanic until about age 50.

Robert was “born again” (received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior) in 1930, at the Dalton Bible Church.  He was active in church and Sunday School all of his life and has been a member of the Randolph Evangelical Free Church since 1969.

As a result of his getting involved with his wife’s ministry to children, he was asked in 1973 to become the State Director for Child Evangelism Fellowship in WI.  In 1993, at age 70, he retired, but continued active in the ministry with his wife, Arlene.  Teaching children about Jesus’ love, and lessons from the Bible, along with working in the Fair Chapel ministry, were his hobby and work.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Elvin Dolgner and his sister Angie. Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Arlene, two children, his son James (Patricia) Dolgner and his daughter Marilyn (Sidney) McMichael.  There are three grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and further survived by other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at the Randolph Evangelical Free Church on Friday, November 20, 2015 from 10 a.m. until the time of the Celebration of Life at 11 a.m.   The Rev. John Olson will officiate.  Interment will take place at Marcellon Cemetery in Pardeeville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Child Evangelism Fellowship or to Samaritan’s Purse.
