Sharon S. Diggins (Marley), 69, of Waupun passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 in her home.

There will be a memorial gathering for Sharon at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Beaver Dam on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  A memorial service will follow at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m.  Inurnment will be at Mount Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst, IL at a later date.

Sharon was born on October 4, 1948 in Monmouth Illinois as the daughter of Dr. Howard and Maxine (Landuyt) Marley.  She was a 1966 graduate of Proviso West High School, and continued her education attending the Cook Country Graduate School of Medicine. Sharon married Russell Diggins Sr. in March of 1969.

Sharon took pride in supporting others.  She was an avid Vietnam Veterans supporter, and managed a local support group to bring comfort and awareness to the community.  She took great pride in supporting her children in all their extra-curricular activities.  You could always count on her to be there yelling as loud as she could for everyone to hear!  To say Sharon was a Chicago Bears fan is a vast understatement, she loved the Bears and she made sure to pass that passion onto her children.  As a descendant of the Blackfoot Indian Tribe, she studied and appreciated her ancestry and collected artifacts that were special to her.  Sharon struggled with a very rare neurological disorder, but that didn’t stop her from her passions.

Sharon is survived by her children, Russell (Tanya) Diggins Jr. of Beaver Dam, Deanna(David) Lothe of Edgerton and Patrick Diggins of Elroy; and grandchildren, Samuel, Emma, Lydia, Shaun, Ian and Addie. She is further survived by her former husband, Russell Diggins, Sr. of Evansville; her niece Marlee Polak and nephews; Dan, Mark, Chad, Adam Polak in Westchester Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her dear sister and brother in law Donna and Donald Polak, and brothers Howard Jr. and James Marley.

In lieu of memorials, donations may be directed to Heartland Hospice.
