“Dick” was born on November 18, 1949, the oldest son of Leonard and Barbara (Tetzlaff) Dornbrook.  He grew up in the Fond du Lac area and following high school, began his training as a Lutheran minister.  It was during this time that he met the love of his life, Denise (Kasper) Dornbrook.  They were married on Oct. 11, 1976.  Together, Denise and Dick raised their beautiful and growing family in their home on Main St. in Juneau, WI.

Dick worked at Clearview Long-Term Care and Rehabilitation Center for over thirty years.  As a volunteer EMT with the Juneau, WI Emergency Medical Services for 15 years, Dick responded to accident scenes with a gentle calmness and served as a role model and mentor for other EMTs.  When his own life was impacted by a tragic accident, that same gentle calmness guided his grieving family through the loss of a sibling and the serious and permanent injuries suffered by his wife, Denise.  He remained steadfast in his love for his wife, his family and God, and was adored by his seven grandchildren.

Dick was actively involved in his community and served as a member of the Dodgeland School Board for 13 years.  He was an active member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam, where he taught Sunday school for ten years and then became the Sunday School Coordinator; he served in that role for an additional ten years. He served as a communion assistant, mentor and on numerous committees.  His fellow parishioners will remember him for his deep faith and commitment to serving God.

Dick is survived by his wife Denise; his children, Carrie (Roy) Profitt, Joell Dornbrook, Kadie(Michael) Becker, Kristi (Alex) Hartzheim, Bryan Dornbrook and Amy Patterson, all of Beaver Dam, WI, Jason Dornbrook, of Madison, WI and seven grandchildren, Jordan Weinberger, Alexandria Hubred, Megan Becker, Karter and Kleyten Hartzheim, Roy Profitt V, Ella Dornbrook. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Frank Dornbrook, his niece Tammy Partridge, daughter, Destiny Chase, mother-in-law, Bernadine Kasper, and brother-in-law, Thomas Kasper.
