Chris Janson to perform at Dodge County Fair

Beaver Dam is excited to bring fresh country music artist, Chris Janson, to the Dodge County Fair’s main stage. Fans can get up close and personal with this up and rising star on Friday, August 17, as they sing along to his new releases. Janson has appeared late nights on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, CONAN, as well as daytime television. But, Janson’s fans can see him right here — in Beaver Dam.

Janson will take the stage at 8:00 pm on Friday. The performance will join the Oak Ridge Boys (Thursday), along with Foghat and Grand Funk Railroad (Saturday) to complete the 2018 FREE evening concert series at the Dodge County Fair. Wednesday evening will feature the family-friendly Badger State Truck and Tractor Pull at 7:00 pm.

“Buy Me a Boat”, “Drunk Girl” and “Fix a Drink” will all be recognized among the crowd, as he performs for the packed audience in Beaver Dam. “Drunk Girl” was awarded Song of the Year at the 2018 Music Row Awards earlier this summer. The decorated hit was mentioned as “quite possibly the most important song to come out of Nashville in years” by CMT. “Drunk Girl”, itself, has been streamed more than 30 million times online since its release.

Sing and dance along with thousands of other country music fans after you hit the midway and enjoy familiar fair concessions. Janson’s talents continue off the stage as well. He has been nominated for and received numerous songwriter awards, including multiple BMI songwriter awards and Country Song of the Year honors at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. Janson is also the youngest living member of the Grand Ole Opry, where he performed back-to-back sold-out performances earlier this summer, with Carrie Underwood.

Chris Janson’s performance and the evening concert series is free with paid gate admission to the fair. Seating is available on a first-come, first serve basis. Attend the fair for only $5.40 per day with the purchase of a 2018 season ticket.  Daily gate admission is $7 before 12:00 pm; or $10 after 12:00 pm.  Children age nine and under receive free admission.  2018 season tickets are only $27 before August 15 and $35 at the gate.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – (June 28, 2018) – When Chris Janson first released “Drunk Girl,” it was hailed as “quite possibly the most important song to come out of Nashville in years” (CMT), and the value of its message continues to prove itself. The breakout star took home the award for Song of the Year at last night’s MusicRow Awards, the 30th annual ceremony honoring writers and publishers on the craft of songwriting.

“I just have to tell you, I always wanted to write with Tom Douglas, and I always wanted to write with Scooter Carusoe,” said Janson on stage at the ceremony. “It was not so easy picking this song because it’s a lot to take on, and we knew that when we wrote it. I have to honestly give the reins and the credit to the two guys right here up on stage with me. Because without passion for real songs, sometimes as artists / writers get lost in what we think is going to work real fast – and that’s the wrong way to look at songs. That’s what I’ve learned from these guys. I’ve learned how to be a better songwriter and how to be just a better human, better Christian, better dad and a better husband.”
