Gertrude E. Haas, age 97, of Beaver Dam, died on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Hillside Manor.
The visitation will be at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church, 511 South Spring Street in Beaver Dam, on Monday, November 25, 2013 from 10:30 AM until 11:20 AM. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the church on Monday at 11:30 AM with Fr. Michael J. Erwin officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
Gertrude Elizabeth Haas was born on September 23, 1916 in the Town of Beaver Dam, Dodge County, Wisconsin to Frank and Anna (Kaiser) Haas. She was the matriarch of the family farm and also was a cashier at Super Valu in Beaver Dam and Pick-n-Save in Watertown. She was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s/St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. Gert had a playful sense of humor and quick wit that will be missed by many.
Survivors are her nieces and nephews, Leo (Bette) Thelen, Raymond (Elaine) Thelen, Audrey Ruplinger, Robert (Jeanette) Thelen, Rita (William) Baker, Edward (Barbara) Budde, Ann Budde, Janet Haas, Jerome (Toni) Haas and many other relatives and friends. Gert was prededed in death by her parents; brothers and sisters, Adela (Anton) Budde, Eleanor (Leo) Thelen, Emma Haas, Leo Haas, Raymond Haas, and Frank (Grace) Haas; her niece and nephews, John Thelen, Joanne Hatton, and James Budde.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hillside Manor for the kind and loving care given to Aunt Gert.
