Obituary: Ronald “Ron” Edward Nehmer

Ronald “Ron” Edward Nehmer, Sr., age 74 of Beaver Dam, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 after a long, courageous battle at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam with his family by his side.

Ron was born on April 29, 1941 to Margaret (Glassman) and Charles Nehmer. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and Army Reserves from 1959 – 67. On July 10, 1965 he married Donna Binder in Randolph. He worked at John Deere as a painter and parts handler for over 27 years, until his retirement in 1999. Ron had a heart of gold and would help anyone in their time of need. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.

Ron is survived by his wife, Donna of Beaver Dam; his children, Ron, Jr. (Jenifer) of Beaver Dam, Rhonda (Glenn) Fick, Jr. of Beaver Dam, Randall (Becky) Nehmer of Beaver Dam and April (Brad) Parrish of Beaver Dam; his grandchildren, Spencer, Caityln, Colin, OJ, Colten, Dillon, Dustin, Parker, Bailey and Hunter; his brothers, Dick (Anita) of Beaver Dam and Norman (Sharon) of Fox Lake; brothers-in-law, Rodney Binder of Fox Lake and Lester (Judy) Binder of Florida; sister-in-law, Bettie Mallon of Beaver Dam, Bev Nehmer of Waupun, Janet Nehmer of Beaver Dam and LuAnn Nehmer of Hartford; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Ron was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Charles, Jerry, Donald, Herbert, Robert “Bud”, Gordon and Jim; and his sisters, Delores Neuman and Judy Vujnovich.

A memorial gathering for Ron will be held on Friday, November 27, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam. Inurnment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Beaver Dam.

The family would like to thank the staff at Beaver Dam Community Hospital, St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison and especially Hillside Manor over the last six months. Your kindness and support will never be forgotten.
