Daniel R. Zanon, 63, of the town of Westford, Wisconsin passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016 at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

A memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, January 10, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam.  A Celebration of Dan’s Life will begin at 12:30 p.m. officiated by Joel Cartier with a luncheon to follow.

Daniel Raymond was born the son of Raymond and Audrey (Pilon) Zanon on October 13, 1952 in Iron Mountain, Michigan.  He was a 1971 graduate of Beaver Dam High School.  For over 20 years, he was a private contractor in home construction in the Beaver Dam area.  Later, he was employed at the Fox Lake Correctional Institution as a cabinet making instructor in a shop class for the inmates.

Dan was a connoisseur of nature. His favorite pastimes were enjoying the outdoors and bow hunting. He loved the North woods and especially “da Zanon family camp” that he built eight years ago near Niagara, Wisconsin.

Dan is survived by his son Jacob (Emily Bartusek) Zanon of Winona, MN; his mother Audrey Zanon; his sister Linda (Ron) Beich; and his brother Keith R. Zanon all of Beaver Dam.  He is further survived by other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Raymond Zanon.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made out to Jacob Zanonfor the Dan Zanon Youth Fund which will support the 4th annual Izaak Walton League of America’s Youth Ice Fishing Event. Dan was a faithful supporter of this youth event held on the backwaters of the Mississippi River near Winona Minnesota. Donations in his name will ensure that the kids prizes, free lunch, and other supplies to host the event will be obtainable for many years to come.
