Obituary: David H. Pitzlin

David H. Pitzlin, age 69, of Beaver Dam, passed away on Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

A visitation will be held St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Funeral service will follow at church on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Philip Heyer officiating.  Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

David H. Pitzlin was born on July 31, 1945 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to Ferd & Lilly (Ulbricht) Pitzlin, the youngest of seven children. David was united in marriage to JoEllen May at St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam on August 24, 1968. 

David was a member of St. Stephen Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam. David was active in his church having served as PTS president, school and church auditor.  Dave was employed by Metalfab, Inc. for 14 years and Myers Mfg. for 24 years, from which he retired as operations manager.  He served in several management positions throughout his career including manager of manufacturing and industrial engineering, quality control, and operations manager.  He was a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and the Society of Industrial Engineers.  Dave was a HAM Radio operator and was a member of the Rock River Radio Club.

Dave was a kind and gentle family man who dearly treasured his time with his wife, his son Chuck, and his daughter-in-law, Kelly.  He will be greatly missed.

David is survived by: his wife JoEllen, of 46 years, of Beaver Dam; his son Chuck (Kelly) Pitzlin of Madison; his brother Ken (Donna) Pitzlin of Sierra Vista, AZ; brothers-in-law, sisters-inlaw, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  David was preceded in death by: his parents and five sisters and brothers, Mae Hodgson, June Hageman, Glenn Pitzlin, Lewis Pitzlin, and John Pitzlin.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made in David Pitzlin’s name to St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 300 West Street in Beaver Dam.
