Obituary: Lorraine E. Schultz

Lorraine E. Schultz, 95 years old, of Horicon, WI, and formerly of Beaver Dam, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Matthews of Horicon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2015 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam, with Rev. Father Mike Erwin presiding. A visitation will take place on Wednesday, Feb. 11th from 9:30 – 11:30 a.m. also at the church. Inurnment will take place in St. Peter Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Lorraine was born on December 25, 1919 to Albert and Ida (Troll) Vollmer in the township of LeRoy. She was united in marriage to Alfred C. Schultz on October 7, 1944 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in LeRoy. Lorraine retired from Beaver Dam Community Hospital in 1981, where she was employed as a cook.

Lorraine was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam. She enjoyed playing bingo, cooking and she liked yodeling.

Lorraine is survived by: her children Jerome Schultz of Milwaukee, Joseph (Carol) Schultz of Beaver Dam, Mary Lou (Donald) Sorgent of Mayville, and Mari Lynn (DuWayne) Griepentrog of Horicon; her daughter-in-law Cynthia Schultz of Great Falls, Montana; her sister Aurelia (Clarence) Schraufnagel of Lomira; her brother Oswald Vollmer of Mayville; 10 grandchildren Nathan Schultz, Christopher Schultz, Rebecca Schultz, Dawn (Mark) Kastenmeier, Mark Cigelske, Nicole (Richard) Simon, Cari (Jeff) Raddamann, Bart Griepentrog, Lindsay (Riley) Hale, and Michael (special friend Nicole) Griepentrog; special friends Sandy (Dane) Grossnick and Michael Grossnick; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lorraine is preceded in death by: her parents, her husband Alfred in 1985, her son Fred in 2011, 2 sisters Josephine Collien and Ida Rediske, 8 brothers Frank, Albert, Felix, Edmond, Gilbert, Aaron, Philip, and Raymond.
