Dorothy J. Shain, age 91, of Beaver Dam, died Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.
Visitation for Dorothy will be at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N Crystal Lake Road in Beaver Dam, on Monday, February 16, 2015 from 10:30 am to 11:200 am. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 11:30 am. Burial will be at Silver Lake Cemetery in Portage.
The former Dorothy J. Shain was born on March 20, 1923 in Portage, Wisconsin to the late John and Minnie (Mateske) Bartels. She graduated from Portage High Shool in 1942. On March 7, 1946, Dorothy was united in marriage with James Shain in Portage. She was a member the Jehovahs Witnesses.
Survivors include her sons, Ronald (Nancy) Shain of Portage and Steven Shain of Beaver Dam; a grandson, Mark (Sarah) Shain of Minneapolis and a great granddaughter, Eliza; a nephews, Paul (Laura) Schult of Delafield; and a special friend, Ann Hunt of Montello. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Barry Lee Shain; her sister, Mildred Hoefler; and a nephew, Gary Schult.
