Eliot Ness was born on 19 April 1903. He rose to fame battling Al Capone, who was invincible because of endemic corruption and the huge graft payments he regularly made to law enforcement. Ness built a team of federal agents who repeatedly raided Capone’s illegal liquor industry. Capone and his money could not touch Ness and his trusty agents, earning them the nickname: “Untouchables.”
