Obituary: Wayne A. Gellings

Wayne A. Gellings, age 62 of rural Markesan, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at his home.

Wayne was born on July 18, 1952 in Franklin, WI to Irenus “Ernie” and Lorrene (Lilland) Gellings.  He graduated from Franklin High School and later earned a BS in Pharmacy from U.W. Madison and a MBA from U.W. Oshkosh.  On April 21, 1979 he was united in marriage to Rene Rupnick in Beaver Dam.  Wayne worked as a pharmacist for the Department of Corrections. 

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, being outdoors and tractors.  Wayne loved animals, especially his dog Buddy.  He was very adventurous and loved to try new things.  He was also a member of the Pharmacy Society of Wisconsin.  Wayne cherished spending time with his family and adored his grandchildren.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be deeply missed.

Wayne is survived by his wife Rene; two sons, Chris (Elisabeth) Gellings and Mike Gellings; grandchildren, Benjamin and Corrine; siblings, Jeanette (Roger) Tabbert, Eileen Houdek, Joyce Palmersheim, Darlene (Jim) Wood, Karen Wetzel, Bonnie (Dick) Graczyk, and Linda (Paul) Worzella.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents and other relatives.

A Memorial Gathering for Wayne will be held on Sunday, June 28, 2015 from 12:00 p.m. (Noon) until 3:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam.
