Obituary: Beatrice “Bea” Steinbach

Beatrice “Bea” Steinbach, age 97 of Beaver Dam, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2015 at Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.

A lifelong resident of Beaver Dam, Bea was born on November 2, 1917, the daughter of Arthur and Anna (Lutzke) Grueneburg. She attended Wayland Academy in Beaver Dam. On October 19, 1941, she was united in marriage to Robert “Red” Steinbach at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Bea was active in the Mission Society and the Ladies Aid at church. She enjoyed raising her three children at home, and also worked at the local Dime Store and for the phone answering service at Masterprint. She enjoyed playing cards, fishing, camping and golfing with her husband Red.

Bea is survived by her sons, Paul of Waupaca and Robert “Mike” (Laura) of Annapolis, MD; her son-in-law, David “Dave” Broome of Beaver Dam; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Red; her daughter, Judy Broome; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Steinbach; brother, Roger (Beaulah) Grueneburg and other relatives.

Visitation for Bea will be held on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 300 West Street, Beaver Dam from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Seth Dorn will officiate. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery, Beaver Dam, followed by a luncheon back at church.

Memorials in Bea’s name may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
