Obituary: Donald Mark Polzin

Donald Mark Polzin, of Beaver Dam WI, died peacefully in his home on June 14, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was 64.

Donald is survived by his loving wife Christa Anna Polzin (nee Redl); his two daughters, Cynthia Goetsch of Shawano, WI and Patricia Rajchel (Paul) of Waukesha, WI; and four grandchildren, Joshua, Brianna, Kerstin and Jax. He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Vernice Polzin; two brothers, Richard Polzin and David Polzin; and three sisters, Charlotte Yerkes, Kathy Stewart, and Mary Dauman.

Donald was born April 25, 1953, in Beaver Dam, WI, to Albert and Vernice Polzin. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School and then served his country in the US Army from 1971-1973.  In 1973 Donald married Christa Polzin, of whom he met while serving in the military in Germany. Donald was a loving husband, Father and grandfather. He was a hardworking man and dedicated employee who worked for Mayville engineering for 32 years, until his retirement in April 2015.

Donald passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family after a battle with Cancer.  He will be remembered as a loving Father and Grandfather and a caring friend. He was passionate about spending time with family, his dog Oreo and of course a good western.

We will celebrate Donald’s life on Wednesday, June 21st at 3pm with a graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Rev. Paul Stratman will officiate the ceremony. Condolences can be sent to N7199 North Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam, WI 53916. In lieu of flowers we ask that a donation be made in Donald’s name to the Dodge County humane Society in Juneau, WI.
