Alton J. Soldner, age 82, of Reeseville, died on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at his home, with family by his side.
The visitation will be at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Reeseville on Saturday, July 22, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at the church on Saturday with Rev. Donald Steinberg officiating. Burial will be at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Reeseville.
Alton J. Soldner was born on September 1, 1934. He was raised in the Reeseville area and in 1955, he was united in marriage with Wanda Maas. Alley unfortunately lost his wife to cancer in 1975 but fell in love a second time to Eleanor Gallitz. They were married on June 17, 1978, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Reeseville, where they were long-time church members. He worked for 39 years at Dairy Equipment in Madison, as a welder, and retired in 1999. Alley was an avid outdoorsmen and spent much of his spare time hunting, musky fishing, and during the winter months, he also enjoyed snowmobiling. Alley’s passion was collecting handguns and he often attended gun shows with friends. His hobby was loading his own shells and was a loyal Packer fan. His most loved time was hosting family Christmas and enjoyed gardening.
Alley is survived by his wife, Eleanor of Reeseville; children, Randy (Brenda) Soldner, Russel (Dawne) Soldner, Tammie (David) Deloy, all of Reeseville, Cindy Gallitz (fiancé, Joel) of Beaver Dam, Tom (Kathy) Gallitz of Jefferson, and Mike Gallitz (fiancée, Lisa) of Reeseville; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brother and sisters, Bonney (David) Rennhack of Lowell, Doug (Denise) Jaehnke of Reeseville, and Renee (Gary) Wahl of Reeseville; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Mildred (Soldner) Jaehnke; his first wife, Wanda; and two brothers, Clifford Jr. and Dennis Jaehnke.
