Obituary: Thomas A. Abresch

Thomas A. Abresch, age 71, of Beaver Dam, died Saturday, October 21, 2017 at AgraceHospice in Fitchburg.

Tom’s life was celebrated at a formal service while he was alive and able to attend on August 5, 2017.  Private burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Tom was born on August 28, 1946 in Iowa City, Iowa to George and Iva (Cook) Abresch.  On September 23, 1967, he was united in marriage with Ruth Berntgen in Cassville, Wisconsin.  Tom’s life was filled with love for the Lord.  Tom loved to travel and tell others about Jesus.  Tom had been employed at Illinois Central Railroad, Dubuque Packing Company, and Kreilkamp Trucking.  After he retired, Tom enjoyed volunteering at Victory Baptist Press in Milton, Florida where he and Ruth helped print Spanish Bibles.  Tom was a member of First Baptist of South Brevard in Melbourne, Florida.  Tom was a Deacon, he worked with Reformers Anonymous, and he was a founding member of Servants of the Savior Motorcycle Club.  Tom also loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Abresch of Beaver Dam; three children, Wendy (Wayne) Sherwood of Randolph, Gina (Curt) Arndt of Juneau, and Jennifer (Richard) Bland of Reeseville; eight grandchildren; three brothers, Leroy (Edna) Abresch, Larry (Rose) Abresch, and Daniel (Pat) Abresch; a step brother, George Abresch; a step sister, Jody Singleterry; other relatives and friends.  Tom was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Michael Abresch, and three sisters, Marian Abresch, Clara Kline, and Judith Cady.
