Obituary: Duane L. Slager

Duane L. Slager, age 51, of Beaver Dam, went to his heavenly home with his Lord and Savior, on Thursday, July 24, 2014.

Visitation will be at Faith Community Christian Church, 401 Stone Street in Beaver Dam, on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. The funeral service will follow at the church on Tuesday at 12:00 noon with Rev. Dave Dykstra officiating. Burial will be at Highland Memory Gardens, Town of Trenton, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

Duane Lee Slager was born on May 21, 1963 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to Clarence and Frieda (Kuiper) Slager. On June 8, 1996 he was united in marriage with Deborah Blank (Zielicke) at Faith Community Christian Church in Beaver Dam. Duane enjoyed cooking, especially making desserts that many friends and family would reap the benefits of. He grew raspberries and would often be found picking them from his garden. He loved playing games with family, especially Rook, and enjoyed playing volleyball. Duane had a deep love for God and family. He was a member of Faith Community Christian Church.

He will be missed by his loving wife, Debbie Slager of Beaver Dam; sons, Kevin (Tania) Blank of Port Washington, and Jonathon Slager of Beaver Dam; brothers and sisters, Don Slager, Dick (Sherri) Slager, and Dave (Carrie) Slager, all of Beaver Dam, Dan (Dottie) Slager of Waupun, and Evonne (Dave) Kooiman of Brandon; many other special relatives and friends. He is joined in life eternal with Jesus and his parents.
