Obituary: Richard Louis Leichtle

Richard Louis Leichtle, age 90 of Beaver Dam, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

Dick was born on January 30, 1925 to Lydia and Edwin Leichtle in Theresa, WI. He went to school in Theresa and then to Mayville High School. From 1943-46, he proudly served his country in the United States Navy and transferred to the Marines. In 1949 he was united in marriage to Mary Ann Dreymiller in Theresa. Their marriage was blessed with four children, Linda, Kathy, Patricia and Rick. They lived in Theresa, Mayville and were residents of Beaver Dam since 1953. Dick worked for P.C. Monday, Cook Coffee Co. and West Agro Chemical Co., and he was the manager for IDO Feed and Supply in Fall River until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the Beaver Dam Bowling Association and the Beaver Dam Country Club for a number of years, the John E. Miller American Legion Post 146 and a member of First Ev. Lutheran Church since 1953.

Dick will be dearly missed by his wife of 65 years, Mary Ann of Beaver Dam; Linda (Bob) Cleveland of Hazelhurst, Kathy (Dennis) Martinson-Hollar of Nevada, IA and Rick “Freight” (Viki) of Beaver Dam; grandsons, Eric (Meghan) Smith and Nick (Melinda) Cleveland; great-grandson, Trenton Cleveland; two sisters and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Patricia; a son-in-law; two sisters; one brother and other relatives.

A memorial service for Dick will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam with Rev. Terry Larson officiating. Inurnment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton, at a later date.

A memorial gathering will be held prior to the service at Cornerstone, beginning at 1:00 p.m. The American Legion Post 146 is invited for a walk-through at 2:00 p.m.
