Obituary: Jean E. Lienke

Jean E. Lienke passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 7, 2014 in the comfort of her son’s home in Fox Lake, WI. She was 80 years old.

Jean was born on September 21, 1933 to Lorenzo and Eleanor (Versma) Nickerson in Chicago, IL and moved to the Columbus area as a child. It was there that she met the love of her life, Otto “Junior” Lienke. They were married on October 25, 1952 and together enjoyed 55 years of marriage, family and farming. Some of Jean’s most cherished memories were her travels to places like Hawaii, Spain, Mexico and the northern woods of Wisconsin, as well as winters spent in Florida. Jean will always be lovingly remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend.

Jean is survived by her four children, Leon (Marilyn) Lienke of Beaver Dam, Karen Lienke of Jacksonville, FL, Robert (fiancée Suzanne Bennett) Lienke of Fox Lake and Mary (Jim) Rosplock of Roscoe, IL; eight grandchildren, Matt (Aubrey) Lienke and Aaron Lienke, both of Beaver Dam, Kate (Josh) Alwine of Houston, TX, Ryan, Kyle and Lauren Hale of Jacksonville, FL and Michael and Ben Rosplock of Roscoe, IL; three great-granddaughters; two brothers, Richard (Carol) Nickerson and Bob (Ruth) Nickerson, both of Columbus and one sister-in-law, Bernice Hemling of Columbus. Jean is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Jean was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Otto in 2008, one nephew and other relatives.

In honoring Jean’s request, a private family memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
