Emily Christine Lyons, age 19, of Beaver Dam, WI left her earthly home to join her Lord on Sunday, March 1, 2015.  Her loving family surrounded her at Wausau Aspirus Hospital where she had been transported following a snowmobile accident in the Minocqua area.

Emily was born October 4, 1995 in Sheboygan, WI to Dawn (Zimmerman) Lyons-Wood and Michael Lyons, formally of Sheboygan.  She attended Beaver Dam Elementary, Middle School, and graduated with honors from Beaver Dam High School, class of 2014.  She began college at the University of St. Thomas in MN and was currently a student at UW-La Crosse where she was pursuing a major in Biology.

Our Lord encourages us to “number our days” and Emily seemed, in her youthful wisdom and insight, to make use of every minute of her life.  She joyfully filled her days with family, friends, school, travel, service, and social activities.  Family gatherings at Grannie and Papa’s home in Sheboygan on holidays were filled with family, good food and laughter.

Emily made countless memories at the Lyons “lake house” in West Bend with her many cousins and spent many hours at her favorite place on earth, Lawsonia Golf Course.

In High School, she participated in basketball, track, golf, band, mock trial, National Honor Society, was homecoming queen and took a school trip to Spain.  Outside of school, she worked at the Beaver Dam Movie Theater.  And as busy as she was, she always had time for her family, friends and for Sam.

Emily is survived by her parents Michael Lyons and Dawn Lyons-Wood and step-father Michael Wood; her sister and best friend Sarah “Sally” Lyons and brother “her bud” Emmett Lyons; step-siblings Michela, Alexa, Kelly, and John Wood; maternal grandparents Don and Judy Zimmerman, Sheboygan;  paternal grandparents JoAnne and the late John Lyons of West Bend;  step-grandparents Ned and Donna Wood, Wisconsin Dells; aunt Donna Endres and cousins Tierney, Collin and Cameron;  aunt Denise Jumes and cousins Greg, Elise and Ana; uncle John(Mary Pat) Lyons and cousins Maggie, Katie, John, Michael and Colleen; uncle Joseph(Karen) Lyons and cousins Kelly, Bob and  Bridget; uncle David(Jaquline) Lyons and cousins Nick, Elissa and Ben; aunt Maggie(Mark) Kochevar and cousins Michael, Claire and John; uncle Kevin(Linda) Lyons and cousins Patrick and Abby; uncle Robert(Peggy) Lyons and cousins Anna, Maggie, Grace and Charlie; step-aunt Marcy (Curt) Jackson and cousins Chase and Trinity; her soulmate Sam White and his parents Tim and Jennifer White, and his sister Elida; family friends Uncle Keith Hofmann, Lisa Reed and numerous extended family, friends and loved ones.

Emily will always be remembered for her vibrant personality, kind and helpful heart, her bright smile that would light up the room, her whole-hearted enthusiasm in whatever she did and her ability to show love and positive encouragement to everyone she came in contact with.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 7 at 11am at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 408 S. Spring Street, Beaver Dam, WI with reception immediately to follow in the Mission Hall.  Visitation will be held on Friday 4-8pm at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 North Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam, WI.

Emily’s family would like to thank the staff of Aspirus Memorial Hospital for the tender care they gave to Emily and those around her.  Patrick Novesky, DNR warden on site; Pet Heller, Vilas County Deputy on site; St. Germain first responders; Rhinelander flight for life crew and Mike Sailer, owner of Rustic Manor.
