Obituary: Viola M. Vujnovich

Viola M. Vujnovich, 68, of Waupun passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2015 at her home.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Viola’s Life that will take place on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Noon at Cocktails Bar and Grill, 1305 N. Center Street, Beaver Dam. 

Viola Mae was born on February 24, 1947 to Harold and May Hughes Sr. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  On April 7, 1984, she was married to Daniel L. Vujnovich in Fox Lake, Wisconsin. 

Viola worked for many years at the Beaver Dam Care Center as a nursing assistant.  She later worked in home care and hospice care through the Beaver Dam Community Hospital.  Viola also worked for the Beaver Dam Humane Society, now called the Dodge County Humane Society, as an animal care giver and later she served on the Board of Directors. 

Viola is survived by her husband of 31 years, Daniel; two sons: Kevin Laufenberg of Fox Lake and Scott Laufenberg of Waupun and daughter Karen Schiltz of Beaver Dam; six grandchildren: Ellen Laufenberg, Codi Laufenberg, Brittney Laufenberg, Amanda Schiltz, Michael Schiltz and Zachary Schiltz; her brother Harold (Pat) Hughes Jr.; two sisters: Dianna Hughes and Patricia (Alfred) Torres.  She is further survived by numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, other relatives, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Elmer Laufenberg, her parents Harold and May Hughes Sr., brother Gregory Hughes, granddaughter Cortney Laufenberg and nephew Jeffery Hodgkins.

Viola’s family requests that blooming plants be sent and will be planted in her garden as a living tribute.
