On Friday, July 10, 2015, Wanda (Czajka) Ferron was peacefully called to her heavenly home at the age of 95.

Born on January 10, 1920 in Beaver Dam to Polish immigrants Joseph and Mary (Zmslony) Czajka at their family farm, Wanda was the third oldest of eight children. Growing up as one of the middle children, Wanda was responsible for working in the dairy barns. Wanda and her sisters, as teenagers, were well known as the “Czajka Polka Sisters” at local barn dances. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1937 with a love for mathematics.

After graduating high school, she met her husband James Ferron, while he worked in the canning factory fields by her family’s farm and continued farming her entire working life. They were married on June 28, 1941 in St. Michael’s Parish in Beaver Dam.  James and Wanda had four children together, whom she fondly adored throughout all her years. Wanda was a faithful lifetime member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, formerly St. Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Throughout her life, Wanda was committed and devoted to her many jobs.  After graduating high school, Wanda worked at the Dodge County Co-Op, St. Joseph’s Hospital, and the Daily Citizen. Wanda enthusiastically applied her love of math for 22 years at Marine Bank and later Bank One in Beaver Dam and retired in 1986. After her retirement, Wanda dedicated her time to the laundry department at Beaver Dam Community Hospital until 2006.

Her faith and love were an inspiration for all who knew her.  She instilled a hard work ethic into her family and beyond being our mother, she was a friend. We will miss her dearly, but we celebrate her life and all the joy and happiness she brought into this world.

Wanda is lovingly remembered by her two sisters Mary Czajka of Beaver Dam and Harriet Weirichs of Appleton and by her three sons James (Maxine) Ferron of Beaver Dam, Dale Ferron of Madison and Joseph (Tracey) Ferron of Beaver Dam, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends . Family members that eagerly welcomed Wanda in Heaven were her parents, Joseph and Mary, husband James, son Michael and siblings Lucille Hoch, Edmund Czajka, Stella Machkovech, Josephine Czajka, and John Czajka along with other relatives.

A Funeral Service for Wanda will be held on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam with Fr.
