Doris A. Westenmeyer, 82, of Beaver Dam passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the UW Hospital in Madison surrounded by her loving family.
A visitation for Doris will be held on Tuesday, March 22nd from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam with a parish vigil to begin at 6:45 p.m. and on Wednesday, March 23rd from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 511 S. Spring Street. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Wednesday, March 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Parish with the Rev. Father Michael Erwin as Celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
Doris Annette was born the daughter of Edwin and Rose (Krupinski) Milarch on March 29, 1933. She was a graduate of St. Peter’s Catholic School. On November 11, 1950, she was united in marriage to John S. Westenmeyer in Beaver Dam.
Doris was a faithful member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish. She had been employed at JC Penney Company for 30 years before retiring. She enjoyed traveling in her younger years and also liked an occasional trip to the casino. She loved spending time with her family and eating out every Thursday, when the most pressing question was “Where are we going to eat today?” Doris was a very kind and loving mother and friend. She never had an unkind word to say about anyone and she saw the positive in every situation.
She deeply missed her husband John who passed away in 2004. We know she is happy to be with him again. We will all miss her positivity, her ready smile and the spring in her step. Rest easy Mom!
Doris is survived by her children: John (Sharon) Westenmeyer Jr. of Beaver Dam, Mark (Noelia) Westenmeyer of Flint, TX, Leon Westenmeyer of Gwinn, MI and Rose (Jim) Rechek of Fox Lake; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, her daughter-in-law Jan Westenmeyer Burgan of Maryland; her brother Joe (Di) Milarch of Colorado; sisters-in-law: Jerilyn Milarch of Nevada, Marge Westenmeyer of Beaver Dam, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John, son Wayne, daughter-in-law Alana Westenmeyer, her sisters: Harriet Bastian and Kay Freimann and her brother Edwin Milarch.
Memorial donations in Doris name may be directed to St. Katharine Drexel Parish.
