Obituary: Werner A. Dinkel

Werner A. Dinkel, age 84 of Fox Lake, passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, October 28, 2014.

Werner was born on October 24, 1930 in the Town of Beaver Dam to Arthur and Edna (Werner) Dinkel.   He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1948 and later served his country in the United States Army. On September 24, 1955, he was united in marriage to Beverly DeMund at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Werner worked as a farmer and also spent many years working at the Randolph and Fox Lake feed mills, as well as National Rivet. He was very handy and enjoyed doing carpentry and tinkering around in his shed. He loved sports and especially enjoyed watching and listening to football and baseball. He also enjoyed listening to polka music, gardening, being outdoors and spending time with his family. Werner was a member of the Fox Lake American Legion Post #521.

Werner is survived by his wife, Beverly of Fox Lake; his children, Carrie (Doug) Sackett of Beaver Dam, Colleen (Dale) Steinhorst of Fox Lake, Charles (fiancée Louise Zastrow) of Beaver Dam, Christine (Mark) Schueffner of New Holstein and Chad (Trisha) of Randolph; his grandchildren, Julie, Nicole, Jason, Rachel, Mark (Emily), Cori, Eric, Sarah (fiancé Brandon), Kyle and McLain; his great-grandchildren, Daelynn and Kylie; his sister, Delores Hundt of Juneau; his sister-in-law, Phyllis Rutz of Iron Ridge; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Werner was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers-in-law and other relatives.

A Funeral Service for Werner will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam with Rev. Mark Jensen officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at Cornerstone, beginning at 12:00 noon. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, Town of Trenton, with graveside military honors provided by American Legion Post #521. A luncheon will follow at Cornerstone.
